The digital networking of laboratory equipment offers enormous potential for the development of a smart and intelligent research space. This allows devices to be networked and detailed information about processes and reactions to be obtained that were previously inaccessible and unusable. The aim of the project is to develop an intelligent control unit that enables the digital networking of a laboratory. This should enable smart control of devices, data to be generated and collected, and finally made usable in order to enable optimization of a wide variety of processes, such as material properties or synthesis conditions, using machine learning, which leads to much more efficient and resource-saving laboratory work.
